Nautical themed oil painting showing a group of sailors disembarking from a masted ship and heading for The Pilot Inn as a lady waves to them from the door. This work was painted by Arthur C. Lotz (American, 1914-2004) and it is signed on both sides as well as dated on the rear (1971). Born in Manhattan, New York, Lotz graduated from Delaney High School in Chicago and later became an Elder of the RLDS Church in Independence, Missouri. He was both a woodcarver and a painter of landscapes. This framed painting measures approximately 22 1/2” by 18 1/2” and is in a wood frame with linen border.
